The LGF Brainerd Lakes Chapter "Do-ers and Donors Picnic" was held Monday September 12, 2011. A fishing contest was held, boat rides were given, door prizes were awarded, Volunteers and Sponsors were recognized, Ron Lindner offered a blessing prayer, a wonderful picnic meal was prepared and served by Cragun's Resort, and Dutch Cragun addressed the group. I wonderful time was had by all in spite of a 20 degree drop in temperature through the afternoon. |

Good Samaritan Presents Let's Go Fishing Day at Brainerd Lunkers baseball game, June 5 |
On the beautiful sunny afternoon of Sunday June 5th, the local Good Samaritan
Society communities of Brainerd and Pine River treated their employees to Let's
Go Fishing Day at the Brainerd Lunkers baseball game. Good Sam is a sponsor of
the local Let's Go Fishing pontoon, and provided local LGF volunteers with
complimentary tickets to the game against the Duluth Huskies, including a free fish
fry lunch before the game. In turn, LGF volunteers treated all kids attending the
game to a pre-game casting contest and complimentary bobber, and provided
between-innings entertainment for the crowd with an on-field casting contest and
tug-of-war between Good Sam employees and LGF volunteers.
We are happy to report that our Brainerd Lakes Area LGF members proved
victorious in their casting and rope-tugging prowess, and that the Lunkers won the
game 8 to 4. In fact, the Brainerd Lunkers are having a banner year, and currently
vie for the lead in the summer Northwoods League, which showcases the talents of
collegiate baseball players in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Ontario. And yes, Good
Sam residents have already caught plenty of fish on the LGF pontoon this season!
LGF, Good Sam and the Lunkers enjoy a unique cross-promotional relationship,
frequently supporting each other's activities at games, promotions and special
events in the Brainerd Lakes Area. It's a good example of how community-minded
folks can work together to achieve positive results. Because when everyone works
together, everyone wins!
